BRESLOW LEVEL

What is a Breslow level?
This is a grading system for melanoma developed to indicate the chance of survival for patients with melanoma. It also gives dermatologists a guideline for how deep and wide to remove the existing melanoma. As of the year 2000, melanomas with a Breslow depth of greater than 1.0 mm, will generally require lymphoscintigraphy.
