Microdermabrasion

1. What is Microdermabrasion? Microdermabrasion is a revolutionary new skin restoration process that was recently approved by the FDA. It is used for skin resurfacing and in treating a range of skin abnormalities. It regenerates the epidermal cell structure increasing skin's elasticity and collagen, resulting in more youthful-looking skin.

2. What does MDA do? MDA helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It evens out skin tone and lightens age spots. It is also effective in treating acne prone skin and enlarged pores. It is also used to smooth out acne scarring and chicken pox scars. Stretch marks on the abdomen and hips are also improved with this technique.

3. How does it work? The DiamondTome Wand gently exfoliates the skin with natural diamond chips, while at the same time vaccuming the dead skin cells away in a sterile and controlled manner. Removing this outer layer od dead skin cells leaves a smoother texture and promotes the growth of healthy new skin cells.

4. Is this treatment painful? No, the new technology used in this procedure makes it virtually painless.

5. How often can I receive the treatment? It depends on the area and the type of skin being treated. To obtain the maximum result, Dr. Guccione recommends a series of six treatments at approximately 2-4 weeks apart. Occasionally, these treatments are supplemented with light fruit acid peels to enhance results.

6. How much does each treatment cost? A single treatment of the face typically runs $150.00. A series of six treatments costs $749.00, which includes a complimentary MD Forte product.

7. How does the MDA compare to other microdermabraders? Resurfacing using a DiamondTome Wand is similar to particle microdermabrasion and chemical peels in its results but without the adverse effects of loose particles, irritation and skin reaction. Unlike other exfoliation treatments, the DiamondTome Skin Resurfacing System uses no loose abrasives to contaminate you or the environment.

8. How long does each treatment take? This procedure usually takes 45 minutes. Includes chemical peel and massage to the arms and face. Please remove your makeup prior to this procedure to maximize your results and to expedite the procedure.

9. When will I see improvement? Patients experience softer, smoother and clearer skin after the first treatment. However, the best results are apparent after six treatments. Many individuals then choose to have a rejuvenating procedure done on an as needed basis.
