Restylane
Restylane is FDA approved to treat wrinkles and deep folds or to provide lip enhancement. As you age, the years of laughing, smiling, talking and tanning inevitably crease your skin. These factors can leave you with wrinkles and lines. Injected under the skin, this product effectively restores the natural youthful looking contours of your face, smoothing wrinkles and filing lines and furrows.
What a Difference
While your results will usually last four months to a year, you may need occasional touch-up treatments to refresh and maintain the correction. Your corrected wrinkles and lines can be reduced nearly indefinitely with regular treatment
Treatment results are highly dependent on physician skill and experience. Dr. Guccione and his skilled staff provide experience and commitment to excellence.
Here is how the injection therapy works:
Dr Guccione injects the filler material under the surface of your skin. This effectively reduces wrinkles and provides more youthful facial contours.
What is Restylane used for?
This product is an injectable filler substance which is used primarily to smooth out wrinkles, fill depressed areas such as the corners of the mouth, provide fullness to areas such as prominent smile line folds, and to provide lip enhancement or redefinition of the lip border thus reducing or eliminating the small grooves responsible for "bleeding" lipstick. This may also be used to provide a fuller lip. Please contact Dr. Guccione and Anne Carlisle, DNP, for a full skin assesssment.
How long does it last?
Restylane treatment usually lasts a number of months, often between four to twelve months. Restylane usually lasts over six months in most individuals.
What kind of wrinkles can be treated?
Common areas are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows), the nasolabial folds (smile folds), and the wrinkles around the lips, but other sites can also be treated. The vermilion border can be accentuated and the lips can be given more volume.
What is treatment like?
Treatment is a very easy and quick process of about thirty minutes. The injections may prick a little, and normally only a topical anesthetic is needed for the treatment of wrinkles. Lip treatment can be uncomfortable and therefore a nerve block or similar anesthetic is normally used, thereby ensuring comfort.
